PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY IN 3 HOSPITALS

  • Development of Dept. of Psychiatry at St. John's Medical College Hospital, Bangalore.

This Dept. of Psychiatry was established within St. John's hospital at a time when Psychiatric patients were traditionally admitted away from other medical patients in separate buildings. For the purpose of integrated admissions the process of special approvals had to be sought. Refer: "On Planning a General Hospital Psychiatric Unit": Indian Journal of Medical Education, 20, 1, (1981) and "Integration of Mental Health Care in Paediatric Units":  Indian Journal of Medical Education, 20, 6, (1981)

  • Manipal Hospital, Bangalore.

An integrated psychiatric ward was developed in this hospital in a private commercial health organisation setting, that maintained a high quality of service.

  • Mallya Hospital, Bangalore

A high quality Dept. of Psychiatry was developed in this hospital from a non-performing integrated setting catering to the psychiatric care.

  • Sagar Hospital, Bangalore

Invited to start and stabilise a Department of Psychiatry as a leading support service for other medical specialities of the hospital.

  • Apollo Clinic & Medinova Diagnostic centre, Bangalore

Part-time work at these organisations to provide comprehensive services at their doorstep.

STRESS AUDIT OF ORGANISATIONS, AND DEVELOPMENT OF MENTORING STRATEGIES FOR INDIVIDUALS AND TEAMS
